올해는 전세계 92개국에서 총 5만여 장의 사진이 응모됐으며 이번에 공개된 최종 후보작들은 총 13점이다.
자연사 박물관 측은 선정작품들 가운데 창의성, 독창성, 사진기술을 기준으로 최고작으로 꼽힌 한 장의 작품을 ‘올해의 야생사진’으로 선정한다. 최종 발표는 오는 10월 17일이다.
